Ear Room Interview

Mark Peter Wright, interviewed me for his Ear Room blog. We talk about my new book, Against Ambience, due tomorrow (December 5) from Bloomsbury, my previous books, my art projects, my rock and roll past, and other sundry topics of lasting and fleeting interest. [click anywhere to visit Ear Room]

That's my neck up there. There's a piece of my hip in it, replacing my eviscerated third and fourth cervical vertebrae. (Thus the name of this blog.) I've played in numerous bands including names_of_music, Nil Resplendent, The Fire Show, and Number One Cup. John Peel once bought me a beer. I've published four books, most recently, Rock and Roll vs. Modern Life (2023). I teach at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
